Your Affiliate Web Site Is Built Now What? by Vickie J. Scanlon

When I first got my web site built, I thought I finally I had
a presence on-line. Wrong! I soon found out that I needed someone
to host my site, and I needed a domain name.

This, I found, was my moment of utter confusion. And my
first thought wasWhat have I gotten myself into!?
I realized I needed the following questions answered before I
could even begin my on-line journey. What do I need in a web host,
what is a web host, what is a domain name andyou
mean, I have to pay for a domain name as well?

What is a Domain?

A domain name is a unique name that identifies an Internet site.
Thus, if you want to do any on-line marketing you need a unique
name to identify your businessand definitely a name that
identifies or relates to that of your on-line presence.

Do I really need a domain name? Yes. Why? There are
several good reasons:

1.It projects a professional image
2.Its mobileyou can change web hosts and your domain
name goes with you.
3.It takes time and hard work to build your affiliate businessif you
dont have your own name and you want to move to a
different web hostall is lost because the domain name is not mobile.

There are many sites that offer a domain name service at a reasonable
price. You can go to my site at www.myaffiliateplace.biz and
look under Affiliate Informationhere you can get an idea
how much a domain name costs.

What is A Web Host?

A web host is an ISP that offers space in which to store your
own personal Web pages. They utilize a web server, which
is a computer that is permanently connected to the Internet and
can send out your web pages on request.

If you want a professional presence, I would suggest that you
do not go with a free site. Why? With your free site, you
are required to include advertisements of their
choosing on your pages.

There are many web hosting sites and prices to choose fromand all
can be very confusing and intimidating when you are first
looking at putting up a site of your own. So, what should you
consider when choosing a web host?

What to Consider When You Choose a Web Host?

When choosing a Web Host you should consider the following:

1.Does it have customer support available 24/7?
2.How often are backups done? (You should also do
your own backups as well.)
3.How much bandwidth do they give you? Bandwidth is
the amount of activity on your site (traffic). The more
visitors you have, the more bandwidth is used.
I recommend at least 2 gigs, with an option to upgrade.
4.How many email accounts do they have? At least 3, preferably more.
5.Does it have traffic statsto monitor your hits, page views, and actual visitors?
6.Does it have FrontPage extensions? (If you are planning to use FrontPage).
7.Does it offer autoresponders?
8.Does it offer FTP?
9.Does it allow for upgrades? As your business grows, so will
your need for more bandwidth.
10.Does it offer SiteBuilder? (If you have no HTML experience/dont
have FrontPage, or no programming knowledgeSiteBuilder
can get you up and running.

To conclude, remember your web site is your business, your
domain is your name, and your web host is your homeall
are important factors to your success. And to think, you
only getting started!

Generate More Sales in ANY Affiliate Program Part Five by Gillian Tarawhiti

Affiliates make money in pretty much two ways, firstly by direct sales (straight forward, no need to elaborate on this) and secondly by commissions from on-selling.

In this article I will be focusing on the affiliates, better known as your down line, your team, your partners, your network.

There are several different types of affiliates, the elusive Super Affiliate, Active Affiliates from Direct Sales, Active Affiliates who On-Sell and inactive affiliates.

The Active Affiliate from Direct Sales are the ones who join up under you and maintain their subscription to the program/service but dont on-sell to others. Giving you Direct Sale Commission.

The Active Affiliate who On-Sells are the ones that provide you passive income giving you a percentage of their sales, this is known as TIER income. It is estimated that less than 5% of your Active Affiliates from Direct Sales will become On-Sellers. However, in saying that, the higher the commission on the product/service the higher percentage rate for Active Affiliate from Direct Sales to become On-Sellers.

So, lets look at a scenario, 25 Active Affiliates join under you, selling web hosting and you get $10.00 per direct sale as commission per month, assuming the Active Affiliate maintains their subscription. Thats and extra $250 a month in your pocket. Not a lot of money, BUT if you repeat this process in 9 other programs then your monthly income increases to $2500.00.

If the program being promoted is a necessity i.e. web hosting, auto responders etc, it is likely the Active Affiliate will maintain their subscription. However if the program is not a necessity item such as an ebook or similar then it is unlikely the affiliate will maintain their subscription, so choose affiliate programs wisely.

Dedicated Active Affiliate On-Sellers are a picky group that require a lot of maintenance, online support and regular contact. The product/service has to be lucrative for them to on-sell, with at least a 4+ tier system for it to be worthwhile.

Unless you have the time and money to invest in On-Sellers then my suggestion today is for you to go for width not depth, and then duplicate it many times over providing Multiple Streams of Income.

The last article in this series will focus fully on ACTIVE AFFILIATES and how to get them. Till then to your online success!

Generate More Sales in ANY Affiliate Program Part Six by Gillian Tarawhiti

ACTIVE AFFILIATES are those who sign up under you for free, then upgrade to being a paid affiliate. Those who sign up but dont upgrade within the first 72 hours are called inactive affiliates and who are unlikely to ever upgrade.

These are people you DONT invest a lot of time on. You can send them out your monthly ezine but thats as far as invested time should go.

Those who have paid to upgrade from free or just looking stage are the ones you should have regular contact in.

When I mention contact, I dont mean contact to sell more things to them, but to offer support, advise, training etc. because these are the ones that will follow you to the ends of the earth if you ask them to, if you treat them right.

Over the past 12 months I have been testing various options and theories of Affiliates who sign up for free and then become paid upgrade affiliates.

My findings although not scientific by any means has shown me that in order for ACTIVE AFFILIATES to create direct sales, they must have the right affiliate program to promote.

Ive explained previously that a great affiliate program is one that is an absolute necessity, a program that will force the buyer to have to start over again if they left your services i.e. web hosting, autoresponders.

According to the search engines there are over 2 million Affiliate Programs for web hosting and over 1 Million for autoresponder affiliate programs. What about domain name affiliate programs, can you think of any othersIm sure you can! Think necessity.

My findings also identified that a great affiliate program MUST be free to join. This gives the prospective buyer the opportunity to test-drive the product before they buy.

OK, now down to the nitty grittywhere and how do you get ACTIVE AFFILIATES?

There are essentially two ways, they are:

1. Promote, promote, promoteanywhere, everywhere that affiliates hang out looking for a bargain.

2. Get a professional to do it for you

Options one is the most commonly used way to find and ascertain ACTIVE AFFILIATES but my findings have shown me that this is not cost effective and is all time consuming. If you are new to the Internet, which most people are, trying to find a niche market, can be very difficult. Then you have to factor the cost of the promotions, set-up costs and time involved.

In testing this method over a period of 6 months a total of 17 people sign up as affiliates and two out of the 17 people then upgraded to paid members.

Option two and not the most common or conventional way was to hire someone who could guarantee upgrades. This you might think is the more expensive option, when in actual fact for the purpose of my testing actually worked out to be a lot cheaper. The provider handled all the work and the affiliate had to qualified twice before actually joining the program all I had to do was wait.

I brought a package that guaranteed 100 signup in 60 days. I got 174 sign ups in less than 60 days. 81 of these signups upgraded to paid affiliates that equates to just over 40% conversion rate.

I try to stay neutral in all my endeavours but I believe that for those who want to Generate More Income in ANY affiliate program, option two is definitely the way to go. I was so impressed by this type of service I decided to buy one for myself.

To your online Success!
